A decade after the original September 11, 2001 attacks on the Twin Towers in New York City, the new One World Trade Center reclaimed its place as the tallest building in New York on Monday, surpassing the Empire State Building by 21 feet when its first steel column on the roof of the 100th floor was raised and the fastenings were made firm.
