Harvard Sells Apple Stock; Should You?

The University of Harvard has sold its stock in Apple Inc. The reasoning behind this was that the iPhone’s sales have dropped and share values have decreased since the record high was met in September. The University sold all its shares, each of which was valued at around $304,000. If you were the head of the richest University in the world has sold they’re stock in Apple, should you?

My advice would be to keep it. And that’s not just because I’m a total Apple freak, I have some valid points to back it up. First, Apple’s WWDC is coming up, and it is rumored that Apple will be releasing things like the iPhone 6S and the iPad Mini with Retina Display. These new products will definitely cause an increase in the share price.

Another reason you should not sell your stock in Apple is because even though the stocks are decreasing, Apple is still a very profitable company. They make a tremendous amount of money every year. This is why I believe you should not sell your stock in Apple.

One last thing, and this is heavily opinion. I am wondering, why would Harvard sell their stock so close to when Apple is releasing new products? Shouldn’t they have waited and sold after the new products were out to gain more money? Post in the comments why you think the University did what they did.

Apple Releases iTunes 11

After a long wait, Apple has finally released iTunes 11 for a free download to the public. iTunes 11 was originally scheduled to be released in october, but Apple told CNET that is would “take a little extra time to get it right.” Apple has completely redesigned the look and experience of iTunes, as the menu dock is on the top of the page, which will give easy access to all your music and to go shopping for music more effectively. The new interface allows you to resize information panels for your music to be entirely “your way.”

iPhone 5 Is Here!

The iPhone 5 is here, and it is certainly the best iPhone ever made! It now has a better screen, complete with Apple’s signature Retina display. The screen is now 4 inches diagonally with a true 16:9 display, created by making the screen taller but not wider. This is the thinnest and lightest iPhone ever, being 18% thinner and 20% lighter than the 4S. It comes with iOS 6, Apple’s all-new phone OS. It has a upgraded iSight Camera, which is a big improvement from the 4S. The back side of the iPhone is now metal, so it will not crack as easily. There was a test done, and the iPhone 5 survived a drop with no cracks 6 feet up in the air. Clearly, Apple has done a great job with the new iPhone and they continue to amaze us in the tech world.

Instagram = FaceBook?

Pretty much all teenagers have a Facebook account, but is Instagram the new Facebook for kids ages 10-14? Instagram is a photo-sharing app that allows you to share your photos with your friends. Your friends can like and comment on your photos, too. The app doesn’t really sound like much, but as I have found out, it is actually very fun and addictive. So is this app an alternative to FaceBook and other social networking sites? I believe it is. Instagram is really fun and all, but kids have to watch out for what they post. Anyone can see they’re photos. Instagram was originally made for kids 13 and up, but lots of kids under 13 have joined. Instagram is really fun, but like all social networking sites, you have to be careful of what you post, to spare your feelings and others as well.

Some of our shows are really long, so to keep our viewers happy, we are putting a 10 minute time limit on every show. This year, we will keep the site updated more, and every member will be required to post at least 2 times a week. Now, as you may have noticed, Asdaqua now has logos! All the shows and Asdaqua itself now have a logo. Season 2 is looking to be much better that Season 1, so keep checking Asdaqua, and we hope to hear your feedback.

iPad Mini?

 We’ve all seen the Apple iPad, and you’ve probably seen how big the iPad is compared to other tablets like the Amazon Kindle Fire and the Google Nexus 7. Is making a smaller sized iPad the next logical thing for Apple to do?
